Illinois Presidents Cup Details

About The President's Cup
The US Youth Soccer President's Cup was established to provide US Youth Soccer member teams an alternative to the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series. Illinois Youth Soccer conducts the official Illinois President's Cup State Tournament as part of the US Youth Soccer National President's Cup. This nationwide tournament provides Illinois Youth Soccer teams in the Under 14-17 age group an alternative tournament to the Illinois State Cup and an opportunity to advance and compete against teams from across the country in a Regional & National competition.

The Illinois President's Cup qualifying tournament will follow the same rules & procedures as the current Illinois State Cup. The Illinois President's Cup champions advance to the the Midwest Regional President's Cup from which they can qualify for the National President's Cup Tournament.

The US Youth Soccer President's Cup is designed for those teams seeking additional challenges and the opportunity to play against teams of similiar ability for a National Title. The President's Cup is a progressive, competitive experience (just like the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series) for teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a Regional or National tournament and have the unique experiences from the competition and camaraderie that a state to regional to national US Youth Soccer tournament offers.

Eligible Teams
The Illinois President's Cup tournament is administered by Illinois Youth Soccer for Boys & Girls in the following age groups:

Under-14
Under-15
Under-16
Under-17

In order to participate in the Illinois President's Cup and the US Youth Soccer President's Cup Series, each team must:

Be a member of the Illinois Youth Soccer Assocation
Be currently registered with an IYSA affiliated league & provide documentation therefore to the IYSA
Play at least three (3) games in an IYSA only division of an IYSA affiliated league. NOTE: President's Cup games do not replace or qualify as affiliated league games.
Provide an Illinois Youth Soccer roster
All players & coaches must be registered with the IYSA
All players and coaches must have and use IYSA/US Youth Soccer passes

Teams that participate in the current soccer year's (September 1 - August 31) Midwest Regional League (MRL) and/or the Illinois State Cup or US Youth Soccer National Championship Series are NOT ELIGIBLE to participate in the President's Cup.

Tournament Format
The Illinois President's Cup is a progressive single elimination tournament. President's Cup State Champions will advance to the US Youth Soccer President's Cup Regional Tournament.

The following age groups will play in FALL 2011:

Girls Under-14
Girls Under-15
Girls Under-16
Girls Under-17

The following age groups will play in Spring 2011:

Boys Under-14
Boys Under-15
Boys Under-16
Boys Under-17

Preliminary rounds will be Home Team Host, unless a large travel distance between two teams necessitates a neutral central location or a mutually agreed upon location.

The semifinals w& finals will be held at a location administered by the IYSA.

*League games take precedence over Illinois President's Cup games.

Cost

Teams will be responsible for the following President's Cup fees:

Registration fee: $200
Referee fee: $75
