Charlie Cook, Coerver Coaching 9-10:15am In this session you will see how to develop ball mastery using a variety of Coerver Coaching activities progressing to the use of small sided games where the ball mastery is a main theme of the practice. Players will be provided with problem solving opportunities and with the use of Coerver Coaching techniques they will find solutions to the soccer problems they encounter as they play. Ideal for those who coach 8-12 year-olds David Lowe, Former Derby County Manager & Wigan Athletic 1st Team Coach 10:30 - 11:45 This session will demonstrate a typical training session from the perspective of a youth academy player focusing on technical execution at game speed. Through the use of activities that challenge the players physically and mentally we will see how speed of thought impacts a player’s ability to execute more efficiently even in high pressure situations. In this session the game understanding of the players will really be put to the test. Ideal for those who coach 14-16 year-olds Tosh Farrell, Everton FC Noon - 1:15pm In this session coaches will learn how to turn a mundane session into a highly competitive, high intensity session without coaching above the player’s ability level. You will see how players can improve quickly in a short span of time with the use of activities available from The Everton Way website. Players will be able to take what they have learned and add to it in a myriad of ways to create their own unique style of play. Improvisation is a difficult thing to teach and this session will provide the building block for player’s to become more creative on their own. Ideal for those who coach 12-15 year-olds Emma Hayes, Chicago Red Stars 1:30-2:30 Head Coach Emma Hayes and select members of the Chicago Red Stars will participate in a preseason training session. Coaches and youth players can take a sneak peak at the methods of coaching and training professional worldclass soccer players. Ideal for coaches & players of all skill levels Chicago Red Stars Interactive Training 2:30 - 3:30 Come out for an interactive skills training session with Red Stars Head Coach Emma Hayes and select players from the team. IYSA players will have the opportunity to take the field with members of the Red Stars to learn from the pros. Space is limited so make sure you arrive early to get signed up. Ideal for all players.
