Illinois Cup Scoring
Teams will play in a points based round-robin tournament to determine the semifinals.
Group play will be based on the following scoring:
- Win: 6 points
- Tie: 3 points
- Loss: 0 points
- 1 points per goal (Max 3 goals)
- Shutout: 1 point
Example 1: Team A wins 4 -2

3 points for goals scored (max of 3 goals)

2 points for goals scored
0 points for loss
2 TOTAL POINTS
Example 2: Team A Wins 5-0
Team A
6 points for win
3 points for goals scored (max of 3 goals)
1 point for shutout
10 TOTAL POINTS
Team B
0 points for loss
Example 3: Team A & Team B tie 4-4
Team A
3 points for tie
3 points for goals scored (max of 3)
6 TOTAL POINTS
Team B
3 points for tie
3 points for goals scored (max 3)

Example 4: Team A & Team B tie 1-1

3 points for tie
1 point for shoutout

If group play ends in a tie, the following criteria will determine tie-breakers. In the event of a forfeit of bye, tie-breakers will be determined from games played within GROUP ONLY. Crossover and forfeit games will not be included incalculation.
Tie-Breakers:
- 1st: Head-to-head
- 2nd: Most Wins
- 3rd: Goal Differential (4 goal max per game)
- 4th: Goals Allowed
- 5th: Penalty Kicks
