This annual statewide tournament for teams in the under 8 - 11 age groups offers youth soccer
players an opportunity to experience a consistent and high quality statewide tournament in a fun, family-like atmosphere. It fosters stimulation and excitement about soccer in an effort to increase the players’ interest and love for the game.

Eligible Teams
In order to participate in the Illinois Cup each team must:
- Be a member of the Illinois Youth Soccer Assocation
- Be currently registered with an IYSA affiliated league & provide documentation therefore to the IYSA
- Provide an Illinois Youth Soccer roster
- All players & coaches must be registered with the IYSA
- All players and coaches must have and use IYSA/US Youth Soccer passes
Tournament Format
Under-8 thru Under-10
- 7 v7
- Points based round-robin group play
- Teams play a minimum of 3 games
- Group winners advance to bonus games (Semifinals & Finals)
Roster size: 14 players for U8-U9, 16 players for U10. Teams can have up to 7 guest players from within their club
Under-11
- 9v9
- Singles elimination Home Team Host until the Round of 16
- Final 16 teams play in points based round-robin group play
- Group winners advance to bonus games (Semifinals & Finals)
Scoring
Group playing scoring:
- Win: 3 points
- Tie: 1 points
- Loss: 0 points
If group play ends in a tie, the following criteria will determine tie-breakers. Tie-breakers will be determined from games played WITHIN GROUPS ONLY. Crossover, byes and forfeit games will not be included in calculations.
Tie-Breakers:
- 1st: Head-to-head
- 2nd: Most Wins
- 3rd: Goal Differential (4 goal max per game)
- 4th: Goals Allowed
- 5th: Penalty Kicks
