In 2007 Illinois Youth Soccer and Everton FC of the English Premiere League reached an exclusive partnership agreement which focused on using “The Everton Way,” the official training program for the Everton Youth Academy, as the official training program of Illinois' elite players. Each pool player in the ODP program receives a subscription to the online academy that has practice drills, coaching tips and more valuable information that is currently used in Everton’s training.

The curriculum of The Everton Way has been incorportated into the ODP training sessions showing Illinois ODP players the training techniques used by EPL players. Wayne Rooney, Richard Dunne, Leon Osman, Victor Anichebe and James Vaughn are among the European professional who are products of “The Everton Way.”

Thru this system, ODP players know in advance which skills will be focused on during their next training session, allowing them the chance to practice and prepare for their next training session.

In addition to the access to the online training, Everton staff coaches including Youth Academy Director, Tosh Farrell, run at least three training sessions for Illinois ODP each year. Farrell has also run coaching clinics and parent presentations.
