GLSA FC 1974 Elite proved to be the best 14U Boys team in the country, winning the 14U Boys US Youth Soccer National Championship with a dominating 3-0 win over STA 2005 from New Jersey.

GLSA FC 1974 Elite secured a 3-0 win against STA 2005 (NJ) to earn the 14U Boys National title. After a scoreless first half, Libertyville took a 40th-minute lead when Miguel Garcia received a pass at midfield, beat the final defender and slotted his shot just inside the left post to put Libertyville, who is a member of the Young Sportsmen's Soccer League, in front. The Illinois side doubled its lead when August Lombardo pressured the STA back line into a turnover and finished inside the right post in the 53rd minute. Zachary Hult capped the win with an insurance goal in the final minute, as Libertyville held on for the shutout to end its week with a clean sheet and the 14U Boys US Youth Soccer National Championship.

Five teams represented Illinois and the Midwest as the National Championships going a total of 8-6-1 in group play. Congratulations to the following teams for a great tournament and for representing Illinois, their club and themselves so well.
