  • Under-12 thru Under-14 teams that competed in Fall 2013, compete again in Spring 2014.

Illinois Youth Soccer started the State Premiership Division in Spring 2013 with support from our competitive member leagues. This exclusive competition was designed to give  elite teams that are registered with Illinois Youth Soccer competitive member leagues (Illinois Women’s Soccer League (IWSL), Young Sportsmen’s Soccer League (YSSL), Central Illinois Youth Soccer League (CIYSL), Southern Illinois Soccer League (SISL), and ILLOWA) an opportunity to compete against the other top teams in the state.

Beginning in Spring ’14 there will be two separate districts in which the State Premiership will be run:
• Chicagoland
• Southern/Central

For the new Southern/Central Division, IYSA will also be accepting applications from teams registered in Southern Illinois Soccer League, Central Illinois Youth Soccer League & ILLOWA . This will allow teams in the central/southern portion of the state to compete against teams they otherwise would not have the opportunity to in league play.

How do I apply?
Only teams currently registered with one of the following Illinois Youth Soccer member leagues: Illinois Women's Soccer League (IWSL), Young Sportsmen's Soccer League (YSSL), Central Illinois Youth Soccer League (CIYSL), Southern Illinois Soccer League (SISL) or ILLOWA, will be considered for the State Premiership Division. After registering with an IYSA Member League, the team must complete and submit the State Premiership Division Application and a resume establishing that it is a top team in the State of Illinois and qualified to participate in the SPD. Teams are accepted to the Premiership based on the information provided in the resume.

If a Team is not accepted to participate in the SPD, the Team must play in the IYSA Member League with which it registered prior
to applying to the State Premiership Division. Since a team that is not selected to the SPD will resume play in the IYSA Member
League, no refunds will be issued. Each Team that wants to play in the SPD must advise the IYSA Member League at the time
registering with the League, that it is applying to participate in the SPD.

What is the schedule?
The State Premiership Division schedule will consist of at least 7 games. Illinois Youth Soccer will set the schedule and who is
home and who is away for each match. Teams then decide when they will play, notify the IYSA, who then assigns the referee

The Premiership Division IS YOUR LEAGUE PLAY. Team do NOT also compete in the league they register with.

Can I use guest players for Premiership games?
The State Premiership Division will use the club passes system. Unlimited transfers from within the club are allowed, meaning
any player from within your club can be used as long as they are registered with an IYSA member league. So, you can pull up
players from a younger team or a “B” team to compete in Premiership games but you MAY NOT use players from another club.
Teams must submit to the IYSA office a copy of an IYSA member league roster showing a player registered with their club before
the player is eligible to compete in a State Premiership match.
