Coaching Course: US Soccer C Course

Course Details:

The U.S. Soccer National C License hosted by ILLINOIS YOUTH SOCCER is an online and in-person course. This blended format combines an online experience, assignments, small group meetings, independent learning, and an in-person meeting.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be register for the U.S. Soccer C course, all candidates must meet the following prerequisites:

•      At least 18 years of age

•      Have held a U.S. Soccer D license for at least 6 months OR meet the waiver guidelines

•      Must have access to a team (U13+) in a participation environment for the duration of the course

 

Course Experience

80+ hours (virtual + in-person meetings)

Coaches who register for this course can expect weekly learning opportunities that will feature a mixture of independent learning using online modules, live virtual meetings, and a 4-day in- person meeting led by a licensed U.S. Soccer Educator. Coaches will be asked to participate in discussions so each person should have access to the internet and a laptop/device with web- camera/live video capabilities. The virtual meetings will take place on agreed-upon days and times (see below). Coaches may be asked to participate in the in-person field component as either coaches or players, so please come prepared to actively learn.

 

Course Duration:

Four (4) Months (Including summative assessment) with Four (4) in-person days

 

Course Assessment:

Formative Assessment (course assignments during the course) in

•      Leadership and Managing the Performance Environment

•      Leading the player within the team

•      Team performance observation-analysis

•      Coaching Games

•      Coaching Training Sessions

 

Summative Assessment (Final projects at the end of the course) in ·

•       Coaching Games

o  Team performance analysis report

•      Coaching Training Sessions

o  Designing two (2) training session plans (within one week)

o  Coaching one (1) training session (video)

 

Course Outcome

On successful completion of course assessment, student coaches will receive the U.S. Soccer C Diploma and a 3-year License.

Course Policies

•      Coaches that register for this course are expected to attend all course meetings and complete all assignments by due dates to be eligible to receive the license

•      Coaches must have access to a team (U13+) in a participation environment for the duration of the course

Pre-course Meeting

Must be registered to attend. Meeting held one (1) week prior to official start of course

Schedule

The final meetings dates and times will be announced at least two (2) weeks prior to the course start. Coaches will be required to allot an average of two (2) hours each week for virtual course meetings.

Location:      Classroom – Hilton Garden Inn, 7675 Walton St, Rockford, IL – Field Mercyhealth Sportscore Two, 8800 E. Riverside Blvd, Loves Park, IL.

Registration:

Registration will open at 11.59pm October 23rd and will close at 11:59 PM on Friday 1, Feb 2024

Refund Policy:

Illinois Youth Soccer C-License Course Refund Policy

• The registration fee must be paid in full at the time of registration which closes on Feb 1st 2024.
• Cancellations more than 14 days prior to the start of the course may be refunded in full. Cancellations made within 14 days of the start of the course will be refunded in full minus a $200 processing fee.
• Student coaches who withdraw for documented medical reasons will get a full refund.
• Once the C-License Course has begun and through week 1 of the course we will continue to offer a transfer to a future Illinois Youth Soccer Association C-License course in same year.
• After week 1 of the C-License course – No refunds or transfers available.
