It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Johann Arnason, founder and CEO of SLYSA-IL, the Illinois Youth Soccer member league serving Southern Illinois.
Johann’s passion for the game and his dedication to the soccer community were unmatched. He introduced many of us to Iceland and continually championed opportunities for players, coaches, and families to grow through the sport he loved.
May the memories of Johann bring comfort to his family, friends, and all who knew him. His friendship, leadership, and unwavering commitment to soccer have left an enduring mark on our community. Johann was a dear friend and colleague — he will be deeply missed.
