15U Boys State Premiership I

FC United and Elite SC are set to face off in a highly anticipated Premiership Game of the Week this Saturday. Both sides come into the match riding high after dominant wins in their season openers.

FC United kicked off their campaign with a commanding 4-0 victory over the always-tough Aurora Eagles. Elite SC, meanwhile, stunned the reigning National Presidents Cup Champions, Wizard Oak Brook, in their debut match—an impressive statement for a club in its first year in the competition.

However, FC United suffered a setback between Premiership fixtures, falling to Chicago Edge in the Presidents Cup Play-In. Coach Sasha will be looking for a quick bounce-back from his squad to maintain their momentum in the league. On the other side, Elite SC isn’t backing down from the challenge. Despite their inexperience in the Premiership, their opening win suggests they could be this season’s dark horse.

A Conversation with the Coaches

Securing three points in the opening game is a major confidence boost, but consistency remains the key.

“New week, new game, same expectations,” said Coach Sasha. “Play organized soccer with high intensity, determination, patience and creativity.” When asked about maintaining performance levels, he emphasized adaptability: “Every game is different. What worked before might not work again. Our approach needs to be at the highest level—running, tactical awareness, execution, and the desire to compete regardless of the score.”

Coach Tony Meza of Elite SC shared a similar focus on growth and preparation. “We focus a lot of team reflection to continue building off the areas that need improvement.” He added, “A lot of situational details that we will continue to implement during training in preparation for the games to come.”

Coach Sasha believes consistency is the biggest factor in becoming champions. “The winners are usually ones that play consistently from the start to the end of the season, with minimum amplitude. If we are able to accomplish it, then we may have a chance be the one!”
Coach Meza, confident in his squad, concluded, “We have a strong core of guys within the roster that believe in each other. We have strong team chemistry within the group and hard working individuals that can make a great impact.”
