The Illinois Youth Soccer Player Development badges points to the club’s dedication to developing a player’s skills on the field and well-being off. The Player Development Badges symbolizes the club cares as much, or more, about improving a player’s individual soccer talent than, wins or losses.
Among the criteria to earn the Player Devlopment badge are
- Club has player(s) participating in Illinois ODP
- Club has a defined and written game model methodology
- Club can demonstrate their commitment to the Coaching Process and how they serve the basic needs of their players
- The club also offers alternative program such as TOPSoccer, early age player program (for kids under 5), referee training for players, etc.
